OVERVIEW OF MIHAS
Manyara Institute of Health and Allied Sciences (MIHAS) is a health training institution dedicated to developing competent, ethical, and skilled healthcare professionals who serve communities across Tanzania and beyond. We are located in Babati under Babati Town Council, the institute focuses on providing high-quality mid-level professional training in health and allied sciences to meet the growing demand for qualified healthcare workers in the country.
THE HISTORY OF MIHAS
Manyara Institute of Health and Allied Sciences was established in 2022 and obtained full registration from the relevant higher education and technical authority in Tanzania, NACTVET, under registration number REG/HAS/256. The institute is also officially recognized by the Ministry of Health for training health professionals.
The establishment of the institute aimed at increasing the availability of skilled, ethical, and competent health professionals to support and strengthen the healthcare system in Tanzania.
Initially, the institute was approved to offer two main programs:
Ordinary Diploma in Clinical Medicine (NTA Level 4–6)
Diploma in Pharmaceutical Sciences (NTA Level 4–6)
Later, the institute expanded its academic offerings by introducing:
Certificate in Laboratory Assistant (NVA Level 1–3)
Through these programs, the institute provides both theoretical knowledge and practical training, preparing students to work effectively in hospitals, health centers, laboratories, and pharmaceutical settings.
Since its establishment in 2022, Manyara Institute of Health and Allied Sciences has continued to grow and contribute significantly to the production of competent health professionals in Tanzania.
